Who We're Here For

Please click an option below

Riding is inherently risky. Our lessons are educational only and are not a substitute for professional, in-person instruction. Always practice new skills at your own risk, in a safe and controlled environment, within your abilities, and in compliance with all laws. See our Terms of Use.

Built for the
Community.

Our Mission

ThrottleWise provides free, top-quality proficiency training to every motorcycle rider — because the root cause of most crashes is the lack of proper training that most riders can't easily get.

17 killed. 226 injured. Every day on US roads.

Crash data going back to the 1981 Hurt Report shows most motorcycle crashes stem from the same preventable rider mistakes. Proper training eliminates them. ThrottleWise delivers it free, to all riders everywhere, with one goal: drive those statistics toward zero.

Our Rider Teaching Series packs the best proven techniques and mental frameworks for public-road riding into short video lessons — each with a demonstration and a practice assignment.

Coming next: the ThrottleWise app will read your bike's telemetry during practice and coach you — "improve this point" or "you nailed it, next lesson" — so any rider, anywhere, can train on their own schedule.

Together we can save lives. Please join us!

Our Values/Principles

  • Teaching Series will always be free to everyone
  • Keep riders engaged in learning by keeping things fun and succinct and provide valuable rewards to incentivize riders to progress
  • With 8 million US riders and 500,000 new riders each year, leverage our economies of scale by negotiating discounts on as many products and services as possible for our members
  • Organize for our community group rides, moto vacations, packages to races and other events with premier access. Do everything we can to support our fellow riders

Our History

ThrottleWise is a labor of love that Dave Keil and Jim Rice have worked on for a couple years. We love motorcycles and the motorcycle lifestyle! But there are far too many accidents on public roads with tragic results that we couldn't ignore. So we built ThrottleWise, launching on August 4, 2026.

Our goal is to make sure every rider has the best training they can get, always free of charge. Come on this wonderful ride with us!

Terms of Use

Last updated: July 20, 2026

Welcome to ThrottleWise. By using this website and its content, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

Educational Content and Assumption of Risk

Motorcycling is inherently dangerous and can result in serious injury or death. All ThrottleWise content — including the Rider Teaching Series videos, practice assignments, and any coaching material — is provided for general educational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional, in-person rider instruction, and it is not advice tailored to you, your motorcycle, or your riding conditions.

By using this content, you acknowledge and agree that you ride and practice entirely at your own risk; that you are solely responsible for judging whether any technique or exercise is safe and legal for you, your skill level, your equipment, and your location; that you will practice new skills only in safe, controlled environments and in compliance with all applicable laws; and that ThrottleWise, its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers are not responsible for any injury, death, or damage arising from your use of the content on this site.

No Warranty

This website and all its content are provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, ThrottleWise and its officers, directors, employees, and volunteers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of this website or its content.

The ThrottleWise name, logo, videos, and all site content are the property of ThrottleWise or its licensors and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may view and share links to our content freely; you may not copy, republish, sell, or create derivative works from it without our written permission.

Donations

Donations are processed by Givebutter and its payment partners under their own terms. Receipts are issued by Givebutter on our behalf. Donations are voluntary and, except as required by law, non-refundable.

Third-Party Services

This site embeds services from third parties (video delivery, donation processing, fonts). Those services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or practices. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Changes

We may update these terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version, and continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 20, 2026

ThrottleWise is a nonprofit organization dedicated to free rider training. We collect as little personal information as possible, we never sell it, and this page explains plainly what we do collect and why.

Information We Collect

Donations. When you donate, our donation processor Givebutter (and its payment partner Stripe) collects your name, email address, and payment details to process the transaction and send your tax receipt. ThrottleWise never sees or stores your full card number.

Contact. If you email or call us, we receive whatever information you choose to share, and we use it only to respond to you.

Member accounts. When our member portal launches, creating an account will involve an email address and password. We will update this policy with details at that time.

Server logs. Like nearly every website, our hosting provider keeps standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and troubleshooting.

Cookies and Third-Party Services

The ThrottleWise website sets no cookies of its own and runs no advertising or tracking of its own. A small number of trusted services we embed do use cookies or browser storage:

Givebutter (donation form) — sets short-lived cookies needed for the form to work securely, a Cloudflare cookie for bot protection, and one analytics cookie that helps Givebutter understand widget usage.
Stripe (payment processing) — sets cookies used for payment security and fraud prevention.
Swarmify (video delivery) — uses browser storage to measure video playback performance; no tracking cookies.
Google Fonts (typography) — serves font files; sets no cookies.

You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings. The site's pages and videos work without cookies; only the donation form requires them.

How We Use Information

We use the information above solely to process donations and issue receipts, respond to your messages, operate and improve the website, and meet our legal and tax obligations as a nonprofit. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information — ever.

Sharing

Personal information is shared only with the service providers named above, and only as needed to operate this website and process donations. Each of those providers is bound by its own privacy policy.

Children

This website is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Your Choices

You may contact us at any time to ask what information we have about you, request a correction, or request deletion. We will honor every reasonable request promptly.

Changes to This Policy

If our practices change — for example, when the member portal launches — we will update this page and its "Last updated" date.

Accessibility Statement

Last updated: July 19, 2026

ThrottleWise exists to make top-quality rider training available to every rider, everywhere, free of charge. "Every rider" includes riders and family members with disabilities, and this website is built to serve them equally.

Our Commitment

ThrottleWise is committed to conforming with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA. We review the site against these guidelines on an ongoing basis and treat accessibility as a requirement of every new page and feature, not an afterthought.

What We Provide

Across the site, we work to ensure text alternatives for images, closed captions on Rider Teaching Series videos, full keyboard navigability, clear focus indicators, sufficient color contrast, consistent page structure with proper headings and landmarks, and compatibility with screen readers and other assistive technologies. Video lessons are designed so that written practice assignments accompany visual demonstrations.

Known Limitations

We are a young organization and some content may not yet meet our standard. Captioning of newly published videos may lag their release by a short period, and some third-party content we embed or link to (such as payment and membership tools) is controlled by other providers. We are actively working with those providers and on our own content to close these gaps.

Tell Us About a Barrier

If any part of this website is difficult for you to use, we want to know so we can fix it. Please contact us and describe the page and the problem you encountered:

Email: info@throttlewise.org
Phone: 707-408-8267

We aim to respond within two business days and to resolve reported barriers as quickly as possible.

Enforcement and Feedback

This statement reflects a genuine, ongoing effort rather than a one-time audit. It was last reviewed on July 19, 2026, and is revisited whenever the site changes significantly.
