Our Mission

Our mission is to save the lives of our fellow riders by making the best rider training free to everyone, everywhere.

17 killed. About 240 injured. Every day on US roads.

Crash data going back to the 1981 Hurt Report (the 1981 University of Southern California crash study) shows most motorcycle crashes stem from the same preventable rider mistakes. Those mistakes are no mystery: most riders learn on their own, with advice from friends and habits handed down for generations — and nobody has ever measured whether training fixes it. Proper training eliminates them. ThrottleWise delivers it free, to all riders everywhere, with one goal: drive those statistics toward zero.

The ThrottleWise Ladder packs the best proven techniques and ways of thinking about public-road riding into short video lessons — each with a demonstration and a practice assignment.

Coming next: the ThrottleWise app will read what your bike's sensors record during practice and coach you — "improve this point" or "you nailed it, next lesson" — so any rider, anywhere, can train on their own schedule.

Our History

ThrottleWise is a labor of love that Dave Keil, Jim Rice, and Brent Wheeler have worked on for a couple of years. We love motorcycles and the motorcycle lifestyle! But too many riders never get past self-taught habits, and the numbers that follow from that were something we couldn't ignore. So we built ThrottleWise, and launched it on August 4, 2026.

Our goal is to make sure every rider has the best training they can get, always free of charge. Built by riders, for riders, and paid for by riders and the people who love them. Come on this wonderful ride with us!
